(WESTPORT, CT -June 16, 1998) - Mecklermedia, "The Internet Media Company," (Nasdaq: MECK) announced today that David Arganbright has joined the company's Internet.com Web publishing division as vice president of commerce and licensing, a newly created position.

Prior to joining Mecklermedia, Mr. Arganbright served as president of Grolier Interactive in Danbury, CT, where he published the best selling and award winning, "Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia," as well as a number of reference and education titles. Mr. Arganbright led the business development efforts there which included numerous licensing and distribution agreements, building Grolier relationships with AOL, CompuServe, AT&T; Worldnet, Dow Jones, Philips and GTE, to name a few.

Mr. Arganbright received his business degree from the University of Cincinnati and his MBA from Miami University.
