YAHOO!, GEOCITIES LEAD OTHER PORTALS IN RATINGS FROM INTERNET.COM'S ECOMMERCE GUIDE

(Westport, CT-January 28, 1999)-. Internet.com's E-Commerce Guide rated Yahoo! [Nasdaq: YHOO] and GeoCities [Nasdaq: GCTY] highest in recent reviews of portal/community sites that offer commerce services. Both Yahoo! Stores and GeoShops from GeoCities received the highest ranking - the Five Star award -- for their excellent reporting and management tools and potential for high visibility.

The E-Commerce Guide is part of internet.com, The E-Commerce and Internet Technology Network. It recently added portal/community site reviews to its storefront/catalog builder reviews. Along with Yahoo! Store and GeoShops, the site features a lab review of GlobeStores from theglobe.com (Nasdaq: TGLO).

"It's clear, management at Yahoo! and GeoCities think alike. The two sites were the clear winners because of their easy-to-use authoring and exceptional reporting tools," said Laura Rush, Managing Editor of the E-Commerce Guide. "The affordable pricing options and access to the traffic that passes through these sites, along with those superb tools are the reasons Yahoo! and GeoCities stand out above the other sites that offer similar services."

One of the hottest trends on the Internet has been a movement by large portal sites to offer storefront building services. The potential for high visibility, along with marketing and site management tools make portals attractive to anyone who wants to jump into the electronic-commerce world without spending a lot of money up front.

"The mission of the E-Commerce Guide is to provide future Internet merchants and businesses with the intelligence and development resources necessary to take advantage of the current e-commerce boom," said Rush.

The E-Commerce Guide is part of internet.com, The E-business and Internet Technology Network, which includes more than two dozen award-winning sites for Web developers, E-business professionals and sophisticated Internet users.
