INTERNET.COM ACQUIRES MYDESKTOP NETWORK OF WEB SITES
(Westport, CT -May 25, 1999)-internet.com LLC, The E-Business and Internet Technology Network, has acquired the Toronto-based MyDesktop network of seven Web sites and eight e-mail newsletters. The MyDesktop properties are now part of internet.com's expanding network of Web sites and related Internet media properties. Terms were not disclosed.The MyDesktop properties are respected sources of information about the Internet and computing. MyDesktop network includes:
- MyDesktop.com - a vertical content site for sophisticated Internet users.
- LinuxPlanet.com - Linux news and tutorials for system administrators.
- VirtualDr.com - a technical support library for Internet and personal computer users.
- HardwareCentral.com - provides comprehensive hardware information including advice on optimization and troubleshooting.
- Webpedia.com - a Web developer resource for novices and experts.
- FileFarm.com - features business software downloads and reviews.
- WinPlanet.com - offers Microsoft Windows software news, tutorials, opinions, reviews and tips.
