INTERNET.COM VENTURE FUND I INVESTMENTS RECOGNIZED; TUTOR.COM AND MDLINX.COM SELECTED BY RED HERRING MAGAZINE AMONG MOST PROMISING TECHNOLOGY START-UPS ON EAST COAST

(WESTPORT, CT - September 8, 1999) - Tutor.com and MDLinx.com, both investments of internet.com Venture Fund I LLC, have been named as "one of the 50 most promising startups on the East Coast" by leading technology business magazine Red Herring. Both startups have been selected as presenting companies for Red Herring's Venture Market East Conference to be held on September 28 & 29 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

MDLinx.com is a network of Web sites tailored to specific medical practice areas, with two sites currently available --http://www.mdlinx.com and http://www.heartlinx.com. Tutor.com aims to become a leading vertical portal for tutoring and instruction services, connecting parents and students with qualified instructors. internet.com Venture Fund I was formed to invest in early-stage online content providers serving targeted business-to-business markets that follow the strategy of, but are not competitive to, internet.com. internet.com is one of the fund's investors and is the portfolio manager.
